The Beatles famously sing "Money Can't Buy Me Love" but money can certainly ruin love. In fact, money disagreements are the number one reason for divorce.
I read an interesting article in the Wall Street Journal today by Jeff D.Opyke called "Questions to Ask After 'I Will' but Before 'I Do" Actually, I think these questions need to be brought up BEFORE YOU ASK your sweetie to marry you. Why before? Suppose you don't get the answer you want? What if you don't agree on how to spend money or save money? Can you reconcile those differences and still be married happily ever after? Can two people with two different views on money happily live together when money is tight? As a personal finance junkie and wedding cinematographer, I wonder how often people think of future finances before they get married. Read the article and share your views.
